1. INTRODUCTION

Adventure activities such as trekking, rock climbing, camping, hiking, mountaineering, rappelling, zipline, river crossing, and outdoor learning programs expose participants to natural environments where immediate medical assistance may not be available.

A properly stocked First Aid Kit enables trained instructors and leaders to provide immediate care until professional medical help arrives.


2. OBJECTIVES OF A FIRST AID KIT

    Purpose:Minor cuts, blisters and abrasions.

A properly maintained First Aid Kit is the first line of response in any outdoor emergency. Whether it is a one-day hike, rock climbing session, school adventure camp, or Himalayan expedition, preparedness can make the difference between a minor incident and a major emergency.

ASRCAI strongly recommends that every adventure program, trek leader, instructor, school, college, and outdoor enthusiast carry an appropriate First Aid Kit and undergo certified First Aid and CPR training.
