The information, standards, certifications, training programs, inspection reports, and advisory services provided by the Climbing & Outdoor Adventure Certification Authority (CIACA) are intended to promote safety, professional practices, and operational compliance within climbing and outdoor adventure activities.

CIACA acts as an independent certification and standards authority and does not guarantee elimination of risks associated with adventure activities, which inherently involve physical, environmental, and operational hazards.

Participation in adventure activities remains voluntary and at the participant’s own risk.

CIACA shall not be held liable for:

  • Accidents, injuries, or fatalities occurring during activities conducted by certified entities

  • Operational negligence by third-party operators

  • Environmental or natural hazards

  • Misuse or unauthorized representation of CIACA certifications

Certification indicates compliance at the time of inspection or evaluation and does not constitute continuous supervision or operational control.

Terms & Conditions - The Basics 

By accessing the CIACA website, applying for certification, participating in training, or using CIACA services, users agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions.

These terms govern:

  • Website usage

  • Certification applications

  • Training participation

  • Inspections and audits

  • Membership and affiliations

  • Use of CIACA intellectual property

CIACA reserves the right to modify these terms at any time without prior notice.

Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

3. DEFINITIONS

Authority — Climbing & Outdoor Adventure Certification Authority (CIACA)
Applicant — Individual or organization applying for certification or membership
Certified Entity — Organization approved under CIACA standards
Inspection — Technical evaluation conducted by CIACA representatives
Certification Mark — Official CIACA logo/seal issued upon approval

4. ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must:

  • Provide accurate and complete information

  • Comply with applicable laws and safety regulations

  • Maintain operational responsibility for their activities

CIACA reserves the right to approve or reject applications at its discretion.

5. CERTIFICATION TERMS

  1. Certification is granted based on documented evaluation and inspection.

  2. Certification validity is limited to the stated period.

  3. Certification may be suspended or revoked if:

    • Safety violations occur

    • False information is submitted

    • Standards are not maintained

  4. Certification does not transfer legal liability from the operator to CIACA.

6. INSPECTIONS & AUDITS

CIACA may conduct:

  • Scheduled inspections

  • Surprise audits

  • Compliance reviews

Applicants must provide reasonable access to facilities, equipment, and documentation.

Failure to cooperate may result in suspension of certification.

7. TRAINING & PARTICIPATION

Participants acknowledge that adventure training includes inherent risks such as:

  • Falls

  • Environmental exposure

  • Physical exertion

  • Equipment-related hazards

Participants must:

  • Declare medical fitness

  • Follow instructor directions

  • Use safety equipment properly

CIACA is not responsible for injuries resulting from participant negligence or undisclosed medical conditions.

8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All CIACA materials including:

  • Logos

  • Certification marks

  • Manuals

  • Standards documents

  • Website content

are protected intellectual property.

Unauthorized use, reproduction, or modification is strictly prohibited.

9. USE OF CERTIFICATION MARK

Certified entities may use CIACA marks only:

  • During certification validity

  • As per branding guidelines

  • Without alteration

Misuse may lead to legal action.

10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CIACA shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential damages

  • Business losses

  • Operational incidents

  • Third-party negligence

CIACA functions as a certifying and advisory authority, not an activity operator.

11. TERMINATION

CIACA may suspend or terminate certification or membership if:

  • Safety standards are violated

  • Misrepresentation occurs

  • Fees remain unpaid

  • Reputation misuse is identified

12. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India.

Jurisdiction shall lie within competent courts of the registered office location of CIACA.

13. PRIVACY & DATA USE

Information submitted to CIACA may be used for:

  • Certification processing

  • Compliance monitoring

  • Communication purposes

CIACA does not sell personal data to third parties.

14. AMENDMENTS

CIACA reserves the right to update policies, standards, and terms to improve safety and operational effectiveness.
